- ALittleLight 5y agoIt could be a function of amount stolen, victim's wealth, perpetrator's wealth.
- kube-system 5y agoThat could very well be a sentencing guideline even if the crime is still called "theft over $5000" Just because a crime has a title [x] doesn't mean that the sentence is always [y]. Often the laws will provide for a range of sentencing depending on other factors.
