I think that remote coding can obviously be practical in some cases but I also think that we should learn the lessons of Gmail/Facebook. If remote coding was the norm it would be an open door for corporate surveillance on a massive scale. I don't feel good about this idea, I think we should resist and fight back, this is not only a technical discussion. On the other hand, the thin client idea is cyclical but is usually short-lived and is often the wrong solution to a real problem (bloatware).
