I find the whole 'anti-natalist because of climate change' phenomenon to be profoundly disturbing. The kinds of people who care this deeply about the well-being of the world are the ones I want having and raising children. They should be having a child or two and raising them to be good stewards of the environment and positive contributors to our society. Instead, they abdicate from that burden.
We all know that the government will not tolerate population decline because of economic reasons, so it's not hyperbole or conspiratorial to say that immigrants will be the ones expected to have children in their stead. Chances are, though, the immigrants and their children will not be so concerned with the climate as they try to achieve wealth.
In my mind, these people haven't actually solved the population growth challenge. They've just written themselves and their progeny out of it. I guess what disturbs me the most is the fact that they've willingly decided to become 'dead ends'.
