WebGPU is essentially a mobile-phone graphics API, as it focuses support towards the lowest common denominator (both in hardware, and the underlying graphics APIs). Similarly to WebGL before, it will always be half a decade to decade behind desktop graphics. The API itself is great, but the artificially imposed limitations are really really restrictive.
