That makes sense, but surely it must be possible to write a little string library in preparation for AOC, which would make Zig a better fit?
- sagarm 5y agoPerhaps, but it's something that's difficult to do _while_ learning the language. The most painful part is hiding all the memory allocation and management, but perhaps you could just declare a static allocator of the default type. You could just an arena allocator probably; AOC problems should not run out of memory, even if allocations are never released.
