This is something I've been eyeing for a while and that I'd like to see if anybody in the HN has already explored this. My crappy non-branded Roomba is dying, and I'd like to get a new one that has fancy features like LIDAR to do SLAM navigation in my house. I also don't want to have to enable Cloud services to get support for fancy features like remotely triggering the robot, telling it to sweep a specific area, etc. Fortunately, it seems that all of that is possible by using this firmware. It looks pretty good for specific robots, and I'm about to pull the trigger. If anybody has any feedback to chime in with though, I'd love to hear! I'm probably going with the Z10 Pro robot from the list of recommended robots here[0].
