On the other hand I've done lots of work that directly helps a lot of people, from educational apps to philanthropic projects to programs with significant utility for global trade, but nonetheless after all that I don't actually think the positive impact on people is what motivates me or makes me feel good about my work—more the craft and the thrill of the chase I guess. It's been an interesting realization to me.
