My Favorite Floppy of All Time (2014)
- samstave 5y agoCheck out Don's post in this thread: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22821030 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22821030 --- That floppy must have run out of space when you were typing up that post - because it did not include the price you paid for it? I am assuming it was a 720K floppy? --- I recall when I was a little kid and got my first 3.5" -- I think it was on my 286? Maybe my 486? I got a box of the rainbow colored floppies and I would put each one in the drive, do DIR and write down the free space on the floppy label. This was 10 year old me "organizing my files" Later, I upgraded from 20 then to 40 then to 120 MEGABYTE drive. I was able to store warez on this guy and use the 40 meg drive as a data shuttle back and forth between my friends house and the school where we ran a BBS with a warez backdoor
