If we can toggle features on and off for money, then I would like to get a refund for the Intel Management Engine because I don't want that nonsense on my private computer.
- charcircuit 5y agoYour computer will not work without the IME. It's a necessary part of the system.
- anthk 5y agoFalse, you can deactivate it, the Libreboot/Coreboot guys have done that.
- monocasa 5y agoIf you look at their work closely, you'll find that it's still on. They simply removed a lot of the processes that run on it on earlier revs. ME is required to bringup the main CPU chip afyer pkwer on.
