A Tesla model 3 in Australia costs more than a brand new Lexus IS300 Luxury. I tested both (and the Tesla S, just for the hell of it), and despite really really wanting to own an EV and leave ICE behind forever, I left with the Lexus. The quality difference is difficult to even put into words, even against the S. The Lexus feels like a $100k car, yet costs 3/4 of that. The Tesla S feels like a $50k car, and costs more than double that. The 3 felt worse than a Corolla in every single way other than performance, but if I wanted a fast vehicle that's built like crap I'd just go buy a used sports car and at least I'd be able to get parts for it and get it serviced/repaired without it taking months.
