I hate to say this, but “Vote with your wallet” assumes that consumers are rational and companies are honest, which isn't happening. In the current scenario, voting with our wallets wouldn't get us far and lawmakers should step in real hard or else we would keep getting “paper/metal straw” solutions for complex problems like endangered aquatic life.
