Is this a joke? Do people no longer understand the basics of vaccines and how immune systems work? Here's a real study and real analysis of mortality rates: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8313045/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8313045/.
Main point
> Among those fully vaccinated, there was 12.5% (23/184) mortality while it was 31.45 % (309/984) among the unvaccinated (OR 0.3, 95% CI 0.2 to 0.5, p<0.0001)
Mortality rate among the unvaccinated is more than double that of the vaccinated. So whether you plan on getting sick or not the vaccine only improves chances of survival. The fact that this even needs to be discussed is just depressing because anyone with basic understanding of biology can understand the causal factors involved in developing immunity against a virus and that a vaccine can in no way reduce your odds of fighting off the infection.

- holonomically 5y agoYa, it's troublesome. It's even worse on social media because there is no way to broach the conspiratorial filter bubbles so people just keep reinforcing conspiracy theories that make no sense to any sane person. Looks like it's spilling over into HN as well now. @b0o: Placing my answer here because the post is now flagged/dead and I can't reply. My suspicion is that there definitely are coordinated misinformation campaigns. But it's hard to tell if it's a bunch of trolls or state actors. Probably a combination of both but the end result ends up being the same. People start believing in nonsense and the result is constant political strife which only weakens the US and most other liberal states and nations.
- b0o 5y agoI've noticed a lot of them are on new accounts as well.
