Instant Pot. I bought the largest one I could find so that I could amortize my prep time. Now I mostly just put a bunch of fresh ingredients in the pot along with some grains and beans and forget about it. The end result is not as delicious as something prepared by a more competent chef but the meals usually last me an entire week so I'm pretty happy with the time saving vs flavor tradeoff.
- tra3 5y agoGood call instantpot was a game changer for me. One thing that might elevate your dishes is seasoning and fresh herbs. I didn’t realize I was under salting my stuff, and a bunch of fresh parsley or mint really makes a huge difference.
- holonomically 5y agoYup, cilantro is another good one (modulo genetic variations and soap tastes). [1] 1: https://www.thespruceeats.com/why-does-cilantro-taste-soapy-1328523 https://www.thespruceeats.com/why-does-cilantro-taste-soapy-...
- GhettoComputers 5y agoTry an induction cooker next, faster than the speed of fire (youtube it!). You can throw stuff like beef or chicken in a sous vide (instant pot might have a sous vide mode) at the beginning of the day, then just finish any you want to eat with the induction cooker and cast iron with some fresh veggies. If your taste is off, you will want to cook for a shorter time, the pressure cookers fuck up flavors and textures sometimes.
