Reverse Dictionary
- leed25d 5y agoThe OneLook ecosystem has been available on DuckDuckGo for quite some time as a 'bang' search. Open a DDG search and type !o lunch for instance. Then click on the 'related words' button to get the thesaurus. Bang commands area very nice feature of the DDG search engine.
- dane-pgp 5y agoThis is incredible. I remember a debate online (possibly on this site), years ago, where someone wished there were such thing as a reverse dictionary for when you know a word exists, but you can't remember how to spell it. I think the opposing side was arguing that you could just do a web search, which is maybe true, but the specific example given was someone who knew there was a medical condition beginning with "C" which is something to do with how the body processes wheat. Sure enough, this search page finds it as result number 82: https://www.onelook.com/reverse-dictionary.shtml?s=wheat&f_sw=c https://www.onelook.com/reverse-dictionary.shtml?s=wheat&f_s...
