Intel: Back on Top by 2025?
- acomjean 5y agoTruth is intel hasn’t been meeting it’s targets. But one can’t help but notice they seem to be responding to Competition. Seems they have a plan going forward anyway. Multiple chip vendor competition mean consumers do better.
- ksec 5y agoI am optimistic [1] on current Intel. I am not sure if they will be "Top" in 2025, but they should at least be on par with TSMC. Hopefully I see one ( or preferably two ) more Fab construction in the next two years. Because you cant compete on Tech without Capacity. And Intel, even with its current planned expansion is still lacking behind. I just wish I could get shit loads of money so I can invest into their stocks. [1] And I have been pessimistic on Intel since 2011.
- torginus 5y agoI wonder if there's a credible chance of ARM making inroads into the non-Mac PC market in the foreseeable future. Microsoft's Windows for ARM has a pretty good x64 emulation layer that's can run the vast majority of software transparently, like Rosetta. In the future your average consumer could just walk in to a store and pick up an ARM machine without knowing anything about CPU architectures, and be happy with it.
