Don't do it, the last thing you want is a raid card malfunction whilst you are on holiday. You'll be talking downtime of days not minutes.
You have to plan for worst case scenarios and how your team mobilise. These things are the "insurance" you are buying when you make the hardware someone else's problem.

Erm ... you do realise it is possible to fit more than one server into a colo rack don't you ? ;-) N.B. Some might also say "who uses RAID cards these days ? ZFS FTW !!"
- bsagdiyev 5y agoThat’s what remote hands are for. When I worked at a data center we did that for free, even provided parts and billed the customer if they didn’t have any spares.
