Winamp prepares a relaunch, new beta version almost ready
- bdcravens 5y agoWhat's the over/under on when they'll have a product called "Winamp Cloud"?
- infinitezest 5y agoMy money is on "Winamp One" or "Winamp 360" or something equally as inscrutable.
- shrikant 5y agoI also fear it'll be some bloated Electron monstrosity, because the copy on the landing page has some bluster about discovery, new artistes, etc. All of which is nice, but indicates to me that it'll be a "webapp packaged as desktop app". I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not hopeful.
- hermes8329 5y agoWith a shit ton of ads and malware

- seattle_spring 5y agoWill it still whip the llama's ass?
- whoknew1122 5y agoCustom skins or riot.
- hulitu 5y agoWhat is wrong with the old winamp ? Last i checked was working ok.
- alok-g 5y agoI use it still, with zero complaints.
- hakfoo 5y agoWhen I tried it, I guess I was way too late to the party. The UI was probably great on an 800x600 CRT, but it seems like the themes are all bitmaps that were never rethemed for a modern higher-DPI/lower-information density monitor. That made it too fidgety for me.
- alok-g 5y agoWinamp has 2X size mode built-in. I personally find it good enough. :-)
- desktopninja 5y agoNo need to change anything other than provide a official download for Winamp v2.92 :) :) :) Infact the whole EXE is less that the homepage of most modern websites.
