I Love Arch, but GNU Guix Is My New Distro
- panny 5y agoI was excited about guix a few years ago. Then their team peed in the pool with their identity politics and used gnu.org as a platform to carry out character assassination on RMS. I haven't looked back since. I think Stallman's politics are terrible too, but he has the common decency to keep it on his own personal domain and not promote it on official ones like gnu.org. The only politics I should hear about on gnu.org are the four freedoms. Period.
- 1MachineElf 5y agoI've often said that in theory I wouldn't let political differences stop me from leveraging useful software. With the RMS drama from the Guix team, that theory has now been tested. I still consider myself a Guix user, even though I don't agree with the project leads on their RMS stance.
