Noble goal, but I really don't understand what advantage you gain from selecting contributors with NFTs.
To be honest, I hope it fails. Developer communities are one of the very few places in crypto that aren't totally infested by Ponzi grifters and where you can find honest conversation, so I wasn't exactly thrilled when I saw this pop up. We don't need more wonky centrally-managed incentives. Incentives can be harmful. It most often reduces to a simple Ponzi.
- k__ 5y agoTo me it seemed that the incentives are used to make decentralization more secure in the future, but let's see how that goes. It feels like a refreshing alternative to the run of the mill VC/startup model.
- leppr 5y agoYou'll make your money and in a year or two you'll turn cynic. That's always how it goes with the smart people in this field. Enjoy the trip.
- k__ 5y agoMoney and cynic? I would have expected OR instead of AND. :)
- exdsq 5y agoI'm quite happy being a cynic in the field. Helps projects I work on stay measured. Not everyone in the web3/blockchain space is money oriented, some are interested in the technical stuff that's hard to find as easily in other fields.
