While that starter home has appreciated, we can't afford a bigger home for our bigger family in the same area, which means we have to think of alternative areas, which means we push prices up in those areas. I think many are trying to jump into their forever home so they can enjoy it without being worried for the future when they need to upgrade and are priced out.
