Why doesn't business have a “meeting cost” line item?
A 1 hour meeting with 10 people could cost the company a lot of money. If they measured the salary cost of 1 hour for each person that participates then they could easily justify replacing a 1 hour meeting with a 15 minute meeting or just an email.
I have never seen such a measurement tracked.
