We stopped Portugal’s bosses contacting staff outside work hours
- themodelplumber 5y agoThat's probably going to save a lot of wasted time and hard feelings toward employers. I know several B2B executives who select clients and partners in part based on this principle. If they get a text outside of work hours, they're done. This is not because they can't commit--the abused party always seems to see this as a test of subjective commitment level or work ethic, so they respond to the text-- but rather, they have healthy boundaries and the creative capacity to make those boundaries work for them, and the other party probably doesn't.

The very same Ana Catarina Mendes said in March that this was something best left to the individual contracts, not a matter for laws. But now that this happens: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FEjKwptWUAEjhnL?format=jpg&name=large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FEjKwptWUAEjhnL?format=jpg&name=... Suddenly they are so protective of workers.
