  No, that's not it. A scam implies that it's deliberate deception. People being hurt is neither here nor there. And obviously people ARE getting hurt, but that doesn't mean it's a scam. It's just a crazy bubble.

        This is true. People gamble on the stock market all the time, yet nobody would call it a scam.
