I don't think jail is the other choice.
- anm89 5y agoI wasn't implying it was, simply stating my relative perception of the two events.
- xwdv 5y agoBeing dead is still a better choice than being trapped in that system and carrying the stigma your whole life IMO. It becomes a permanent problem that you cannot escape.
- akerl_ 5y agoIt seems pretty tautologically impossible for being “trapped in that system” to be a more permanent problem than death.
- cinquemb 5y agoSeems like a matter of perspective or belief, no? For the observer of death it seems permanent; whereas a corpse lacks the same ability to perceive their own death the same way as the observer after it happened (i.e. a few moments, modulo anyone's beliefs surrounding after-life) if going by measuring brain activity via something like EEG and blood flow through the body. Where as "trapped in that system" could be as long as a few decades before one eventually dies.
- xwdv 5y agoA problem can follow a person all the way up until the day they die. Death is sometimes the only true escape.
- kingcharles 5y agoI was in jail for eight years. I would say a large majority of people are in jail due to various mental health issues.
- ChrisMarshallNY 5y agoThanks for sharing that. Hope things are well for you now.
