Just switch to vscodium. I thought it was gonna be complicated when I started but it was a literal drop in replacement, I even symbolic linked my old vscode settings folder to vscodium's and everything is identical, except it now doesn't have stupid telemetry default settings and it's actually open source. Literally, drop in replacement, you should try it.
