> What makes nuclear power an attractive prospect to us is the long period of time a ship can remain at sea without the need to return to port. This is important to our resident communities at Storylines, as they see that if something like the Covid-19 pandemic were to happen again, they could remain safely at sea and potentially avoid it.
How disappointing (and dystopian). I thought it would have more to do with the terrible amount of pollution that shipping spews out.
They’ll need to pull into port or connect with a supply vessel eventually for food and other such consumables. Just like submarines and aircraft carriers. (Jets don’t run on electricity nor do all of the escort ships.)

The US Navy often scraps a nuclear vessel after the reactor times out, instead of overhauling the reactor. Something to think about. Also, the US govt can store waste in a pond forever, and you can't.
