I talked to the guys at GHGSat and led an investment effort into them.
The sources of methane release are pretty varied, for example damming rivers can be a line source, as it increases the water level upstream from the dam, submerging trees/brush which partially break down into methane.
It’s a fascinating space really. Earth observation from satellites is going to reveal a lot of insight about the world.

- mogadsheu 5y agoMost likely nuclear or get ready to jog to work and be excited about Christmas sweaters. I’m optimistic but fewer fossil fuels is a lifestyle change
- quantified 5y agoIt’s a mindset change, to get away from everything that fossil fuels have provided. Transport makes so much happen. We’ll still pump massive oil, plastics aren’t going anywhere.
