hey. why don't you build some templates for accountants because this looks a nice thing for people like us but we aren't devs and coding financial statements from scratch, the db and all looks like a huge deal. i can totally see using this but "handholding" would be great.

    cool. i have a massive "excel" file that i created over the past 4 odd years. always tinkering with it, adding features. i tried to get started but a new app from scratch is just not possible for me. i have a simple question though. can this "self hosted option" work completly offline?

      Yes - we want this, except that we happen to have an open bug for this at the moment: https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/issues/3164 https://github.com/Budibase/budibase/issues/3164 - so it's not working right now.

      That's cool. Have known the founder and liked their product and seemed relevant hence suggested. Do check out Appsmith (https://github.com/appsmithorg/appsmith https://github.com/appsmithorg/appsmith), I work here and we're an open source low code framework for building internal applications. We haven't really thought about the accounting use case, but now that you mention it, it could be super interesting (we've ofcourse had a lot of users building for HR, IT, Sales & Marketing use cases, other than the support). Btw, on an unrelated note, I'm Kashmiri too :)

        awesome. i did not know this existed. the setup mentions not airgapped by default but that is fine for me to contact the team. this looks like something i can use internally and love. yeah, thanks for this. oh, great. good to know i have friends here as well. last time i told someone i was on HN and /., their eyes went wide in shock. edit: yeah, anything is better than proprietary ;-)
