Personality Type, as Well as Politics, Predicts Who Shares Fake News
- twofornone 5y ago>Highly impulsive people who lean conservative are more likely to share false news stories. They have a desire to create chaos and won’t be deterred by fact-checkers I think anyone who has been following the inexcusably and deliberately misleading coverage of the rittenhouse trial should recognize that these propagandists are knowingly misusing the terms "fake news", "misinformation", and "fact checking" to push their politics with thinly disguised partisan propaganda from once respected outlets like this. It's disturbing to see how far our institutions have fallen, when even Scientific American is more concerned with political activism than scientific reporting. "Fake news" is only more likely to be spread by conservatives when you dishonestly control the definition of truth. I hope people are increasingly recognizing the blatant slant in all of our mainstream media, including so called "fact checkers" who effectively collude with selective reviews to paint the misleading picture that only right of center outlets are unreliable.
- oblib 5y agoI've not been following it but I have a very liberal friend who has and he's said he thinks it was a case of self defense. Several other disagreed but he held his ground. >Highly impulsive people who lean conservative are more likely to share false news stories. That seems accurate for my FB feed. I won't make the leap to assume their desires, and especially "to create chaos". That's not even close to what I see from most of them. I know a few who espouse that though.
- bananabiscuit 5y agoWhat a ridiculous article. Is there a name for this? Dressing up obviously biased partisan opinion as “Science”.
