The author may have a different definition of "hard math" than you...
- fragmede 5y agoI think it's a reference to the kind of math involved, like hard science vs soft science. Not that I'm sure what soft math would be. Probabilities?
- hammock 5y agoStatistics. Accounting. Etc
- Ar-Curunir 5y agoNo, the difference is whether you require deep theorems from algebra, measure theory, combinatorics, etc.

- thanatos519 5y agoEconomics.
- Nasrudith 5y agoSoft math vs hard math has me thinking aproximations, estimations, and heuristics as opposed to exact solutions. Neither type of solution is inherently easy or difficult of course.
- leoc 5y ago'Hard' is meant as an antonym of 'easy' rather than 'soft' here.
