My wife took a year off (she got 3 months salary) so I worked a second job in the evenings to make up the shortfall. Thanks to my parents they only went to daycare when they were about 4 years old - the baby section of their daycare took in babies from 6 months old. To me it looked like those Romanian orphanages you saw after the fall of Soviet era dictator.
