Italy's recent reclassification of COVID deaths and the result of that (97% reduction in "Deaths CAUSED BY Covid" to ~4K deaths, by separating out "Deaths from other causes also having Covid") is probably why this occurred - reality didn't fit the narrative and certainly the cognitive dissonance of being wrong doesn't help openness.
- jjeaff 5y agoThat is completely false. They didn't reclassify any deaths. The report you are referring to merely said that 3% percent of COVID deaths in the country had no preexisting conditions or comorbidities. Which also means that 4,000 of the more than 130k deaths were relatively young and in good health. https://apnews.com/article/fact-checking-748677716173 https://apnews.com/article/fact-checking-748677716173
