The Media’s Epic Fail
- 323 5y agoWaPo/NYT write articles that please their paying subscribers and uphold their confirmation biases. So nobody who matters cares about these failings.
- h2odragon 5y agoOf course this is just one in an interlocking series of "Epic Fails" that held up long enough and now will be forgotten in the face of the next major media panic fest. So it was, so shall it ever be...
- labster 5y agoAxios takes a brief victory lap for not reporting the news. Congrats, I guess. Meanwhile the generation that lived through the “WMDs in Iraq” suddenly starts believing in raw intelligence reports.
- q1w2 5y agoThey did their duty to not reported what was an obviously planted political false story. Yeah, they should be strongly congratulated for that since nearly every other outlet repeated that literal fake news.
- kilna 5y agoAdd another log on the fire. Most every major news story whose only sources were active/loyal-former intelligence agents in the past few decades has turned out to be a lie, or so unsubstantiated as to be indistinguishable from a lie. The CIA performs torture, overthrows legitimate governments by coup, and wages propaganda campaigns. They're not supposed to, but they have lied to the American public time and again. Every modern US war has been predicated on false pretenses and/or outright lies coming from intelligence agencies.
- q1w2 5y ago"unnamed source" has sadly become synonymous with "fake news". Main stream media outlets burned their credibility during the Trump administration.
