People did exactly what you suggest. And the country they moved to was England, and the city, London, which now has 38% non-UK born residents:

- throwaway55421 5y agoYep. I live there and it's great. Love the transport links. If I were mentally handicapped and stuck working in a supermarket earning a tenner an hour I'd have long since flipped the table, though - playing when the deck is stacked against you makes no sense. In the 1960s we had a system that allowed the majority to live in reasonable conditions. Nowadays it's get rich or die trying and no-one seems to really see a problem with this.

- robotresearcher 5y agoTake a look at the salaries before you do. Engineers may be disappointed compared to the Bay Area.
- digianarchist 5y agoIt's easier to buy a $1.5 million home in the Bay Area when you earn $300k than a £1 million home on £80k.
