- billybuckwheat 5y agoA very pathetic attempt by Politico to try to shame Bernie. The ones who should be ashamed are the writer of the article and the editors at Politico.
- nabla9 5y agoShaming socialist for having $2 million is just as idiotic as asking Billionaires to pay more taxes than what they can avoid. Both are calls for individual charity, not for structural change. It's completely reasonable for a Socialist to be a millionaire and demand more taxes. Same as when Warren Buffet asks more taxation for the rich. Political change happens when we change the rules of the game.
- handmodel 5y agoI'm not a fan of Bernie but honestly 2 million dollars is a remarkably average amount of money for someone who has been making 100k with great benefits for 30 years. And low for someone who has written books + speaks at colleges etc. His wife was also president of a small college for some time.

- ejlangev 5y agoWhat an embarrassing article to publish. I can't believe someone was paid for writing this many words about this particular topic. Regardless of if you agree with his politics, there is nothing opulent about having a net worth of $2 million at his age with his level of success. Much of his money was made through writing a book and you know he would be willing to pay the increased taxes himself. Just stupid.
- devonnull 5y agoA very sad attempt at a hit piece. It's not as if Sanders is mega rich and hiding his wealth offshore to avoid taxes. And there's no rule that states someone who believes in socialism must live in abject poverty.
