Android 12 will always open non-verified links in the default browser
- tentacleuno 5y agoFor a TL;DR, here's an example: apps like Frost for Facebook won't be able to handle facebook.com links anymore. The list available at facebook.com/.well-known/assetlinks.json will decide which apps can open facebook.com links. Anything else will open in the user's default browser.
- winternett 5y agoI really wonder if it will carry over to gmail. I really hate how they open email links from eail in in a different instance of chrome browser than the default browser I choose, my info is never synced correctly, and saves don't work properly at all. I now the settings may be able to be changed somewhere, but I don't trust software companies any more. Google also has major problems in segmenting multiple gmail accounts on mobile devices and on youtube. They allowed everyone to sign up for gmail for free and are suddenly placing a 15GB quota on accounts as well, giving people no choice but to upgrade for a monthly fee (that can't even be pre-paid for more than one year). I really hate the manipulation, and that leads me to the point of just wanting to set up my own email service so I can ensure that I won't get fleeced unexpectedly even more in the future.
