The Map of Mathematics
- ColinWright 5y agoWhile I recognise that some people love this and find it amazing, I hate it. Absolutely hate it. It's swish and glossy, but completely unenlightening. Commented on quite a lot in one of its previous submissions: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22328516 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22328516 And another: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25920822 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25920822 But I really hate it. Maybe I know too much math, and am too involved with communicating to students and the general public what math is really about. If you like it then probably you should comment here to provide an alternative point of view.
