  "Could start as early as 2030". What is the deal with this year. It seems like everything is targeting this year. General A.I., bees dying off, genetically engineered animals, extreme weather happening often, etc

    It’s a round number. Such an estimate usually means the person giving it isn’t making a solid prediction.

    Strange, I can remember things targeting 2020, but 2020 turned out to be a bust.

  This is actually kind of disturbing because when global warming doesn't arrive, the icecaps don't disappear, and the sealevel continues to rise at 3-4mm a year, this will be the excuse they use. No longer can global warming be ruled out as a failed prediction until well into 2080.

  (2018) The stuff about the Maunder Minimum is junk. The sunspot minimum will not be a problem.
