- PoignardAzur 5y agoHere's your usual reminder that Julian Assange currently isn't charged with anything in the UK, that the only crime he actually committed was bail jumping which he served his sentence for, that the original accusation that led to the bail jumping has since been proved to be fraudulent, and that the US extradition request has been denied on grounds that the US prison system is so inhuman that it can't guarantee that Assange wouldn't commit suicide if he was extradited. And yet Assange is still detained in the UK despite being charged with no crime by the UK, while the US prepare an extradition appeal. There are no words to describe how disgusting the US's authoritarian fixation on making an example out of Assange is. He's been hunted by three administrations now, two of them Democrat, for the crime of revealing the US's own war crimes to the world. The western world needs to stop being complicit with the US and start treating it like the rogue superpower it is.
