Kioxia EM6 25GbE NVMe-Of SSD Launched
- kleton 5y agoDoes it "speak" iSCSI or what?
- detaro 5y agoIt speaks NVMe-oF, which pretty much just wraps "raw" NVMe commands in transport protocols.
- fuzzylightbulb 5y agoIt speaks NVMe. NVMe is the protocol, and it is used for both storage access and transport. iSCSI is just SCSI commands encapsulated in a packet and sent over an IP network.
- chrisMyzel 5y agoNVME-oF looks pretty convenient to use, you need two commands (guess since this is directly attached to a switch here only one client side command) to have a remote SSD show up in linux..it doesnt show up as a mounted drive but a /dev/ device…pretty neat.
- baybal2 5y agoOnly for storage I guess. 25 Gbit is nothing in comparison to speed, and efficiency of PCIE.
