  They are not allowed to scrape it; that's the point of Google negotiating with them so Google can make index and therefore make Instagram photos and TikTok videos searchable on Google Search.

Wonder if instagram will let you see the photo if you're coming from google. Currently if you spend too much time on instagram not logged in, they don't let you see anything and require you to sign in

      Haha, yeah! Every time I land on one of these and get caught out by the nag to sign in, I'm like "whatever, thanks for reminding me I was about to procrastinate". Close the tab and move on with my life.

  I’ve never used instagram as a result of that, which makes me thankful for it.

Internet social networks do not allow their content to be crawled and indexed but if Google is negotiating with Instagram and TikTok to do it then good. I had another solution to this problem and that is to crawl and index social media content that is shared on websites via web content embeddings(iframes) and then make it searchable. This way social media content(photos,videos etc.) that is shared by journalists and bloggers on websites and blogs would be searchable. It is not complete index but it is a good start. There is no way to search all Instagram photos or TikTok videos unless they allow it. Tbh I don't believe Instagram and TikTok will make all photos and videos searchable because there are billions of photos and videos to be indexed and searched, it would give Google too much leverage and power.
