Explaining why I think capitalism has evolved into something worse [video]
- ahartmetz 5y agoIt would REALLY help Varoufakis's believability to stop with the exaggerations. He has interesting points, but it's so tiring to always have to second-guess "was that an exaggeration or is it literally true?".
- mushbino 5y agoCan you give an example
- ahartmetz 5y ago"It's not capitalism". What he means is it's capitalism where a few actors have too much influence. Was the US oil trade around 1880 not capitalism because of Standard Oil? Are the US not capitalist because of the military-industrial complex? Is the labor market not capitalism because of (the strong position of large employers / unions, your choice)? These extremisms are also thought-terminating. They offer little nuance to attach to and follow along and maybe have some own ideas. What Varoufakis offers are ready-made slogans to shout at someone.
