I liked Orange Pi PC's. $10-$15 for much more umph than much more expensive Rpi 2b that was all the rage at the same time. No special firmware needed for anything, everything open, real SoC user manual available, not the lol thing broadcom released, schematics, etc. Very nice linux-sunxi community with large and detailed wiki.
