How to Uninstall Microsoft Edge
- pm2222 5y agoEdge is not bad. I’m a long time Chrome user and I switch to Edge.
- tomnipotent 5y agoEdge Chromium video performance is incredible, and you're right that it's actually a good browser. I just wish it didn't have the silly "Deals" integration, which cheapens it for me (though I feel similarly about Firefox and Pocket). It's going to be hard for them to recover their browser reputation, but this is a great first step.
- hw-guy 5y agoAs much as I would like to uninstall Edge--and in the past, Internet Explorer--I am hesitant to do so. I have frequently been forced to use various state and local government web sites that only work with IE. One time I even had to revert to an older version of IE. I don't know why these web sites are so universally shitty, but that's another topic.
- netizen-936824 5y agoBecause nobody values IT until it's a problem
- BizarroLand 5y agoMore like changing things at the government level is an exercise in frustration and if the change isn't lead top-down it is almost guaranteed to fail. At the same time, the top-level people who have the power to enact the change don't like change and don't think it's needed and won't until external forces work on them to utterly destroy their mouldering architecture. We won't see the end of internet explorer based sites until it becomes literally impossible to access the internet through internet explorer.
- culopatin 5y agoWell edge is now Chromium based so it won’t make a difference in that case.
- yuppie_scum 5y agoI was daily driving edge for several months. Performance is much better than chrome. But its bookmark sync just was not reliable. No matter what I tried I could not get my bookmarks to sync down to a few of the devices, or I’d see different subsets on different devices. I have about 5 devices I bounce back and forth between and kind of need that functionality so I ultimately threw in the towel and switched back to Chrome.
- kotaKat 5y agoDoes this fix the issue where IE redirects pages to a "This page doesn't work in Internet Explorer" error? On a fresh Windows 10 21H2 install, I tried launching iexplore to Google, and it immediately opened Edge to Google while throwing up a Microsoft-hosted "nope" page.
