Random thought from a non-expert but is the only future where cryptocurrency takes over one where global society / traditional currency collapses? And if that happens will cryptocurrency be enough to support the economic needs of a postcollapse society? Is a postcollapse society even something that could realistically exist?
Just something that keeps popping into my head while listening to friends / coworkers talk about NFTs and Dogecoin. Again 100% not an expert but curious what more informed people might think.
- breckenedge 5y agoDepends what you mean by a collapse. Enormous resources are used by crypto networks. It seems unlikely to me that a collapse, likely causing a significant disruption in global telecommunications, would be good for Bitcoin.
