So the working explanation is that the disappearance of new cars (due to chip shortages) has doubled the price of used cars?
How long can that bubble last? Is it the same globally?
- toxik 5y agoIn northern Europe, it’s business as usual. Maybe our volumes are so small that the market need for new cars is still met?
- Digory 5y agoInteresting. A doubling in the US seems bigger to me than just the chip shortage. I wonder if the US tax incentives/spending policy this year are increasing demand at the same time supply is short?
- tonyedgecombe 5y agoMy wife's car has gone up in value by 20% since we bought it two years ago. This is in the UK.
