That's pretty dismissive and inaccurate. The app's only available on iPad and, while it could be on other devices, it is currently unique to Apple and utilizes HealthKit services which are also only available with Apple.

Actually, this is unique to Apple because they have a massive number of relatively cheap, high-quality tablets all over the world running the same operating system across many generations of the same product. There is nothing in the market that can match an iPad for this application.

    Not only that, but saying that it runs the same operating system is disingenuous. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS_version_history#Overview https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS_version_history#Overview Sure, it's called the same, but old versions are discontinued and worse than Android in this state in my experience. Unless you previously bought/downloaded some old versions of most widespread apps like Youtube you won't be able to install them without jumping through hoops. And even if you get them some old apps don't even work anymore because developers don't support them therefore jailbreak won't help either.

      A lot of Apple’s older hardware will run the latest OS. Which is the same operating system across all of those devices.

        Define older -- any Mac from 2011 or before is stuck at 10.13, while I could easily run Windows 10 on a 10 year old PC.

How else are Apple product managers going to get promoted, if not by invoking strong feelings of patriotism by trotting out the veterans that it suddenly cares so much about?
