Tidal turbines could generate 11% of the UK’s power
- mytailorisrich 5y agoFrance has a tidal power plant that has been running since 1966 [1]. They did not build more for whatever reasons (environment, sites, nuclear power). It seems that the modern options would cause less environmental impact than what they did at the time, which was to build a dam across an estuary. - catlikesshrimp 5y agoIt is nice to have tidal turbines revisited. It is necessary to mention that anything exposed to salt water has a rather short life, and that tidal levels don't produce energy all day long.
