- vernie 5y agoIt's worth noting that ILM dropped Unreal in favor of their own engine for the second season.
- InTheArena 5y agodo you have a source on that? Not questioning, but would like to know the details.

- dogma1138 5y agoUnreal Engine is still used with StageCraft 2.0 but not as the “final frame” renderer which is now ILM’s Helios renderer.
- vernie 5y agoAccording to the article Unreal is used as a DCC application alongside Houdini or Maya but the actual engine is now Helios.
- dogma1138 5y agoYes, but if you know what these applications are used for and read between the lines Houdini is used for simulations, Maya is used for (by hand) animations and UE is used for scene composition.
- KineticLensman 5y agoAlso used in the UK to create virtual TV studios, notably for sports programmes where the pundits sit in a green-screen studio and impressive real-time backdrops are created around them. This allows a single physical studio to support multiple programmes using a range of different virtual assets. See [0] for a range of the different things Unreal is used for apart from games.
