Thanks a lot! Losing the 2 thumbs button in the worst case is an acceptable tradeoff, so I'll try to get one.

  You won't regret it. One tip: If after a year or so a button starts to double-trigger, just hit it hard a couple of times, that fixes it. That was the only problem I had with this mouse. Scrolling is excellent, works on any surface, can be paired to three devices (also via Bluetooth), the battery lasts really long on one charge and it's relatively small. You'll find uses for the thumb buttons, like CTRL + Shift + T to reopen the last closed tab in the browser.
